An implant-supported denture is a type of denture that is supported by an attachment to dental implants. A regular denture rests on the gums, and takes a while to get comfortable chewing with. Implants improve the fit and quality of function.

An implant-supported denture is used when a person doesn't have any teeth in the jaw, but has enough bone in the jaw to support implants. This type of denture has special attachments that snap onto attachments on the implants.

Dental Implant-supported dentures are normally made for the lower jaw because traditional dentures tend to be less stable there. For the upper arch, an implant supported denture can eliminate the need for the denture to cover the palate. This is a benefit because when the palate is covered it hinders your ability to smell and taste
